Types of selling
There are many type of selling depending on the nature of selling task.We'd like to mention is that basic distinction which common says in modern world.They are-
1) Order-Takers
2) Order-Creators and
3) Order-getters
Order-takers
Order-takers: means that taking respond from existing customers.There are three types of order-takers:inside order takers, delivery sales people and outside order-takers.Inside Order-takers
The task is purely transactional- payment receiving, making a transit of the goods. Telemarketing sales team who support field sales by taking customers' order over the telephone is also an inside order-takers.Delivery Sales people
The primarily task is that delivering the product.Personality of the salesperson and reliability of delivery will directly effect on winning and losing of orders.Outside order-takers
The primarily task is that to respond customer requests and visiting to customers.Order-creators
Order-creators: means that, who do not receive orders from customers when they talk to who specify the point rather than buyer. It is also called missionary people. The selling task is to educate and build goodwill.Order-getters
Order-getters: means that, who persuade the customers to make an order directly. Order-getters are front-line salespeople, consumer salespeople, sales support salespeople who can be either technical support salespeople or merchandisers. The primary selling job is to persuade customer to make a direct purchase. The salespeople need to have the ability to identify new prospect, persuading and negotiating, build profitable business.Technical support salespeople
The task is to provide sales support to front-line salespeople.
Merchanndisers
They provide sales support in retail and wholesale selling situation. They can advice on display, implement sales promotions, check stock levels and maintain contact with store managers.
